The main difference between RAW and JPEG is the size and the image quality between them both. RAW files are significantly bigger than JPEG files. You can change a RAW file into a JPEG, by going into Lightroom and then edit it and export it as a JPEG but keeping those RAW details. If I were to shoot an important event, I think I would shoot in RAW. To give me the best image quality and editing into the best image possible.
